... "Pet Shop Boys Turn the Royal Opera House into a Dance Hall" :))

A four-day residency, and I went to two nights. Unbeatable fun, with lasers, amazing headgear, a host of dancing jellybabies, and the whole audience dancing all night. My feet by the end of Saturday night were in a World of Pain, but it was worth it (which of course is actually a cue for a Pets song... )

The thing about the Pets is they've never stopped moving. New stuff all the time, and new developments. The last two albums have been a riot. They certainly aren't stuck in the 80s, even though they still play (and everyone loves) their 80s hits!

Ooh that looks fantastic - the Pet Shop Boys and the Opera House. I would love to see them live giving West End Girls the full treatment - although I did see Neil Tennant duet (one song!) with Rufus Wainwright last summer.

It was an amazing venue for them, grand yet intimate at the same time.
Rufus is a long-time collaborator - I recall Neil T produced one of his albums but I can't remember which one right now. Have you ever heard Rufus singing "Casanova in Hell" from "Concrete", which was the Pets live album, recorded at the Mermaid? The song is just made for his wonderful voice. :))

And thanks for the congrats. Where do those years go? What did I do in them???
